Dutch pension system worldwide in first place
Once again, the Dutch pension system is in first place this year in the Global Pension Index compiled by consultancy firm Mercer. The high position of the Dutch pension system is due to the amount of pension that is paid (what does someone get?), The sustainability of the system (will it remain affordable?) And the system itself (is it reliable?). The Netherlands is doing well because the pension consists of AOW and supplementary pension, the shifting state pension age keeps pension affordable and the fourteen hundred billion euros at pension funds provides a robust reserve.
